Come join us for AAPI games and lunch on Saturday, 11/12/22 from 11am to 1pm at Evarts Lounge (School of Nursing, 255 Crittenden Blvd.). This event is open to all
graduate students and postdoctoral scholars at U of R and URMC. AAPI food will be there, and we have Mah Jong (Chinese strategic game) and YootNoRi (Korean simple/fun game for even children to play), for you to enjoy after/with the meal. You can bring your spouse and children and RSVP for them, but we will need RSVPs from all members of U of R and URMC for a correct headcount.
Since current postdocs and graduate students will become professors/mentors/supervisors in either academia or industry, us learning about minority cultures like AAPI cultures and talking about cultural differences that affect training can help us become leaders who are more sensitive to minority training, which we may be able to apply to how to treat other minority groups. Games and food are fun ways to get to know one another and cultures. We hope people can learn about AAPI cultures and training through games and talking with one another.
