Play It Safe is a model program of the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic that focuses on harm-reduction measures for the New Orleans cultural community by providing access to protective equipment and health education resources.
Play It Safe Bell Covers are one example of our musician-specific PPE. These act as masks for musicians’ instruments and are made with durable, washable fabric that meets standards for blocking aerosol droplets. Bell covers allow musicians to play without the risk of spreading viruses AND without impacting sound quality or volume!
Thanks to a grant from the Threadhead Cultural Foundation, the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic has an assortment of Bell Covers and Windscreens to distribute to the New Orleans cultural community. We encourage local musicians to complete the following form to request this PPE for their bands and themselves.
Once complete, you will hear directly from NOMC staff to confirm next steps. Please note: at this time PPE distribution is solely for musicians and culture bearers in the greater New Orleans metropolitan area.
