This survey aims at exploring the way vehicles and pedestrians circulate in Paleochora. The recorded results will be used in order to best inform the design and management of traffic in the central part of the town.
The natural environment, the cultural microclimate and the beneficial geographic location of Paleochora, make it one of the most visited places throughout the year and especially during the summer months. The increased number of visitors and vehicles not only increase the traffic but also hinder the pedestrians and vehicles’ circulation.
The future connection of the town with other bordering ones (Chrisoskalitisa, Anidroi etc) will increase the traffic further, therefore this case study is necessary.
