1. Have lived experience of forced displacement (e.g., as a current / former refugee, asylum seeker, IDP, stateless person, or another category);
2. Live in East Africa
3. Have completed a BA degree in a field in the Social Sciences or Humanities (e.g., International Relations, International Development, Politics, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, History, Law, Literature, etc.);
4. Have demonstrated interest in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies or related fields; and
5. Be able to commit for 15-25 hours a week

The East African Centre for Forced Migration & Displacement (EACFMD) and the University of Oxfordโs Refugee -Led Research Hub (RLRH) in Nairobi, are collaborating to offer 3-month long research placements to two scholars who are interested in graduate-level research and have lived experience of displacement (e.g., as a current/former refugee, asylum seeker, IDP, stateless, or other category).
The three successful attachรฉs will participate in EACFMD & RLRH research activities, scholar mentorship and trainings, and work closely with accomplished scholars and researchers to support ongoing and proposed research projects in East Africa. They will be involved in research on various thematic areas, including:
climate change-induced displacement, refugee livelihoods/economies, protection (law/policy), and complementary pathways.

๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐-๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐๐ฎ๐ is an initiative of the Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) at the University of Oxford. It provides support to displaced scholars to advance an agenda for refugee-authored scholarship and research in the field of Forced Migration Studies. The hub is located in Nairobi at the British Institute in Eastern Africa (BIEA), allowing the RSC to leverage its existing networks in the region to build a core team of displaced graduate-level researchers.
