After the NTU Center for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Robotics and the Research Institute of Electrical Communication, Tohoku University signed a memorandum of cooperation at the end of 2017, they have been annually organizing the "NTU–Tohoku Symposium on AI and Human Studies" alternately.

This year, the seventh edition of the symposium will be hosted by the NTU Center for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Robotics.
