Purposeful Change Feedback
This is designed to encourage faculty to periodically consider their teaching and attempt to engage in continuous improvement. We ask that they decide on some small-ish change they could make in their teaching that might lead to improved student learning or some other improvement and carry out that change (in year 1 or 2 of the evaluation cycle). Afterwards, we ask them to reflect upon it during their portfolio year and decide whether it is something they want to continue, make some modifications and try again, or roll back. We expect these to be unsuccessful sometimes, so there is no penalty attached to an unsuccessful outcome. This is meant to be a helpful experience, even if it doesn't go as planned. (This replaces the course commentary. We believe that a lot of the value of the course commentary can be derived from some of the questions in the Faculty Reflection Form, if not quite in as much depth.)
