How our adoption process works:
Adoption process:
1) You will complete the application form and those details will be used to review your situation and experience to determine if you are a good match with the dog you are interested in adopting.
2) If your application is successful, you will be contacted by one of the adoption coordinators based in Oman, initially by email and then a video call. If both parties are in agreement to proceed, we move onto step 3.
3) An adoption coordinator will conduct a virtual home check of your property. We like to check that the property is suitable and secure for the dog and it is also a good chance for you to ask us any further questions you might have about the dog. (If there is a volunteer in the UK local to your area, the home check will be conducted in person).
4) If the home check is successful, we can proceed with the process. We will start to prepare your dog for travel to the UK and create a WhatsApp group so you can receive regular updates and videos during the waiting time in order to form a bond with your dog.
5) Once we have booked your dog onto a flight, we will then finalise the adoption. There is an adoption agreement form to sign and adoption fee of £500 which will be used towards the travel costs.
Additional information:
- Dogs need to have a rabies titer test in order to enter the UK from Oman. The dog is able to travel 90 days after the date the blood sample is taken.
- All of our dogs are neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
-NB: The total cost for us to send a dog to the UK is £1,200, but we ask for an adoption fee of £500 to go towards this cost. If you are able to contribute more than the £500 adoption fee, that would be helpful as we rely on fundraising and public donations to help us to send the dogs abroad.
