The Fayetteville-Manlius Varsity Team will be helping to run the Invitational. They will not be eligible for medals or trophies, and there will be no F-M results visible on the final scoring sheet.
Each school/team will be responsible for helping to prep and run at least one event. (Schools with multiple teams may be asked to assist with multiple events. This will depend upon the number of schools that choose to participate this year.) For test events, we'll send you a first draft of the test and ask that you provide feedback for how it can be improved. Please think carefully about the events you would feel comfortable running and complete this Form accordingly. Also, please don't share information about any written tests with your Team(s) members. Coach assignments and test drafts will be sent out on November 17, 2023. Please email a copy of the reviewed test to jbuchman@fmschools.org (with the subject line "Invitational Test") no later than November 24, 2023.
An adult must monitor your Team Room at all times. Team Rooms must be cleaned/returned to original configuration at the end of the Invitational.
All rules for Science Olympiad Competitions apply.
(The Invitational will be run based on "Regional" guidelines, if that applies for a given event.)
At check-in, Coaches will be required to turn in Publicity Release Forms for each student, confirm that they have Medical Release Forms for each student, and turn in completed Team Roster, Vandalism, and Tournament Signature Forms. (Copies of the forms you will turn in for Regionals are fine, so long as they are accurate for our Invitational as well.)
In the event that our Invitational gets canceled (or your teams are unable to participate) due to weather, money will not be refunded, but you will still receive the tests electronically so your Olympians will have the opportunity to battle the events on their own. (If you know any Sun Dances, have at it, please!) This means that you are still obligated to submit your reviewed test, even if your team(s) cannot make the Invitational.
To participate, please fill out this Form (by November 13) and mail a check made out to F-M High School for $100 per team (by November 24, 2023). Please indicate the Team(s) in the Memo line. The check should be mailed to Joshua Buchman, Fayetteville-Manlius High School, 8201 East Seneca Turnpike, Manlius, NY 13104.
