What is a Street Team?
Think of a Street Team as a group of readers that LOVE an author's work and want to share that author's books with as many people as possible! They want people to know about this author's body of work and help around the launch of a new book to get that book seen by everyone! They also share the author's work during non-launch times.
The Street Team is vital to the success of any author, but especially indie authors, like me.
In the era of social media, posting about my books is one of the primary ways that I reach new readers. I post about my books frequently!
However, there is nothing more powerful than an avid reader recommending a book that they loved.
I would be humbled and honored if you would consider joining my Street Team to help me make my dream a reality.
Collette Carmon's Street Team Expectations:
- ARC reviews: during a launch, you will be given the opportunity to review an Advanced Copy(ebook) of my books. This is not required and you will NOT be penalized if you are unable to review any ARC at any time. However, if you DO choose to receive an ARC, I would love for you to leave a review on Amazon, Goodreads, or Bookbub. The more reviews, the better! If you take an ARC copy and cannot complete the review within the expected time reach out to me. If you don't reach out and don't complete the reading or the review there's a chance you won't receive another one.
- Interaction: At any time, interacting with my posts can be a great help in getting me seen by potential readers who might also love my books! A like, love, laugh, react, comment, or (the most coveted and only reserved for when you're REALLY feeling it) a share! There is no set quota for any of these, just a suggestion of a way to help me out in the algorithm!
- Posting to social media: There is no set expectation of how many times you should post to your social media about my books, but it is GREATLY and INTENSELY appreciated. Another fabulous way you can help is by sharing to reader groups. These posts are particularly powerful. Always feel free to tag me because I love to see all of these and appreciate each and every one of you when you take the time to make such a post! You are allowed to post any excerpts, pictures of the book, or graphics you make about it, and I will also provide graphics to you if you want them via the Street Team Discord.
- Discord: This is an easy one. Discord is a chat service that makes it easy to communicate with a group of people. You can sign up at www.discord.com. You can set up an account and download the app to your phone, desktop, or both. Below, you can share your username with me and I will get you added to the chat.
What You Can Expect From Collette:
- Hearing About New Books Before Anyone Else: There is a 100% chance that you will know about my next book before anyone else! I'll likely discuss that in the chat before the pre-order is up.
- First-Look at Covers, Graphics, etc.: You will be the first to see covers as you'll be part of cover reveal posts! I also might A/B test covers with you, asking which one you prefer for a specific book. You'll see promotional graphics first and basically get a behind the scenes look at this part of my book business!
- Swag: I want to send swag to y'all periodically! We can discuss this more in the Discord chat as I want it to be something you're interested in! I'm thinking story specific stickers, signed copies, merchandise, and more!
- Discord: You'll be able to chat with me in the Discord at any time! I imagine we will have a lot of fun in there!
