Bioinformatics Education Grant
Purpose: The purpose of this grant is to give SAVMA students the opportunity and motive to further their education in bioinformatics, a field with growing importance as medicine becomes increasingly virtual.

Grant: There will be two (2) $250 grants that will be provided for externships, conferences, or classes that feature bioinformatics or databases. Students will need to explain how to opportunity pertains to furthering knowledge on informatics, and send an itemized list to justify budgetary needs.

DUE: July 1, 2024

Requirements:

- Send proof of the opportunity/your attendance - Brief explanation of how the opportunity improves your knowledge in databases, coding, or bioinformatics - An itemized budget list will be required to attain funds

Examples of programs include but are not limited to:

- Purchase of educational material, like textbooks, which involve database AND/OR coding AND/OR bioinformatics - Virtual classes that offer instruction in the use of databases AND/OR basic coding - Virtual classes that offer instruction in the use of genetic bioinformatic programs - Externships that heavily involve bioinformatics - Conferences that offer "wet lab" instruction in databases, coding, or bioinformatics - Other experiences not listed here are welcome!

We ask for name, school, address, and email for awarding purposes, but grants will be blinded for grading and will not include any personal information.
