Spring 2023 The Crit Lab will design In-Person, Virtual, and/or Hybrid (combination of in-person+online meetings) dependent on covid protocols, registration preferences, artist applications. Most Labs will be virtual. The calendar and group are built around types of sessions to accommodate new variables.
All groups are curated by Patricia Miranda; it is not possible to sign up for a particular group. Groups are curated for maximum artistic engagement, commonality, and community based on the work of each artist.
Virtual Sessions meet twice monthly February through June for 10 meetings, 3-3.5 hours each, morning or afternoon. Each artist has one full critique each month, for 35-45 minutes. Zoom room opens 30 minutes before for social time.
Times:
Morning: 9:30am- 12:30pm (opens at 9am).
Afternoon: 2pm-5pm. (opens at 1:30pm).
In person sessions meet from 10am-4pm.
The Crit Lab offers different Labs: Main Labs, NxtLvl Labs, Max Lab (in development), Duet Lab (for 2 people), Individual Sessions. We are always open to new ideas and formations.
All new artists are placed in Main Labs. New NxtLvl Lab applications require additional info, a website, and advanced meeting. All new artists are required to attend a 60 minute orientation Zoom meeting.
The Labs create an environment of trust and community. We request that artists make every effort to be present for all sessions. There is no refund or makeup for lost sessions.
There is a $25 registration fee in addition to tuition.

Payment info is on the website and is due before the first meeting or per agreed payment plan. No payment is due with application. Patricia will be in contact once sessions are in formation.
Due to the impact on the curation and small number of artists in each group, full refunds are only available for cancellations up to 3 weeks before session begins, minus $50 admin fee. Cancelation within 14 days is $100 administrative fee if your spot is filled, at discretion of the Lab. I am flexible and work hard to constitute the groups- and will do my best to fill your spot, but this is not guaranteed.
We offer very flexible and generous payment plans!! Whatever payment plan works for you generally works for us.
Sessions are limited. Completing an application does not guarantee or obligate participation. Returning artists have priority registration.
