The Gryphon's POC mentorship scheme - application form.
As part of the Gryphon's commitment to being a more diverse and representative publication, we are launching a mentorship programme for Black, brown and ethnic minority students at the University of Leeds. The programme will provide underrepresented students with industry skills, tailored advice and opportunities to progress to permanent editorial roles within the paper, despite having no previous involvement.

How will it work?
Mentees will be matched up with current members of the Gryphon team based on their interests. As well as shadowing and accessing one-to-one advice through the assigned mentors, mentees will get hands-on experience, from using Wordpress and Indesign, helping to run meetings and editing content. The programme will run throughout Semester 2 in line with each mentee's timetable and commitments. Depending on preference, this will take up around one hour per week.

If you're a Black, brown or ethnic minority student with an interest in journalism, writing, marketing, social media or related fields, fill out the short application form below by 9am on Monday 25th January 2021. No experience required! Successful applicants will be notified that same week before the programme starts the following Monday.
