YIVO Teacher Survey

This Spring YIVO will be launching a new Learning and Media Center (YLMC) in a new space within its location in the Center for Jewish History, 15 W 16th Street, New York, NY 10011.

This important initiative, funded by the Seedlings Foundation, will introduce visiting classes and the general public to the depth, breadth, and richness of Eastern European and Russian Jewish life over centuries. Archive-based exhibitions drawn from YIVO's 24 million archival documents and objects and 400,000 books will enable visitors to explore subjects such as the Yiddish language, literature, political movements, folklore, emigration, the larger history of the times, all the stuff of daily life that contributed to the Jewish people’s remarkable achievements and inner strength over many centuries in Eastern Europe, Russia and the American diaspora, its continuities and ruptures. Interactive exhibitions will include photographs, sound recordings, documents, artifacts, and objects.

As we plan this initiative, we look for the views and recommendations of teachers in our community. If you are a teacher please consider filling out this survey.
