ACP Doctoral Research Award Nomination 2024
The Executive Committee of the ACP invites nominations for the 2024 ACP Doctoral Research in Constraint Programming Award.

The purpose of this award is to recognize a promising young researcher that defended their PhD thesis in the last two calendar years, related to the topic of Constraint Programming. The award, in the form of a certificate, will be presented at the CP 2024 conference, where the winning researcher will be invited to give a talk about their PhD thesis. The award includes a cash prize of 500 euros, plus free registration for the conference.

For the list of previous awardees, see: http://www.a4cp.org/awards/doctoral-research-award

NOMINATION PROCESS

Nominations are led by a nominator, who was a supervisor of the PhD thesis of the candidate. The nominator submits a nomination (this form), and arranges for 2 referees that write a supporting reference letter (in a separate form: https://forms.gle/VucaY9YzxSK8Awhr9).

The strict deadline to receive all nomination information is: 14 June 2024.

ELIGIBILITY

Researchers are eligible for nomination if they defended their PhD between January and December in the last two calendar years. For 2024, this means between 1 January 2022 and up to 31 December 2023.

The nominator, candidate and referees must all be active ACP members, that is, having registered at http://www.a4cp.org/ (the candidate at latest before the award ceremony).

Referees can not have a conflict of interest with the candidate; meaning they have not been a PhD supervisor of the candidate, and in the past 6 years they have not published together nor worked at the same institution.

AWARD COMMITTEE

An award committee will be set up by the secretary of the ACP. The committee will be chaired by an ACP EC member and composed such that there is no conflict of interest with the nominees. Members of the award committee cannot be candidates, nor can they support a candidate by being a nominator or a referee.

The selection of the winning candidate is based on the originality, impact, and quality of the research work. The evaluation will consider all contributions to the CP community, including publications, software, systems, applications and other community building and research communication efforts.
