Together Forever - Sign-up Form - Run 4
Please submit this form by 23:59 British Summer Time (i.e. GMT+1) on Thursday, 10th September. Note: it is not first-come-first-serve, feel free to take your time. We will then circulate a list of names of all the players who signed up and give you a couple of days to tell us whether there is anyone you wouldn't want to play with. On Sunday, 13th September we will inform you whether you got a spot in the larp and we will ask you to pay the £10 contribution (+ optional donations).

Most of the characters will be in their mid-late twenties or thirties, but characters younger or older than will also be present. Please tick all the ages that you're willing to play. Note: you can play a character of any age, regardless of your own age.

Gender preferences for romance *
We encourage everyone to be flexible by default unless it is an issue for them. We also support queer identities and asexual/aromantic players and characters; these orientations are acknowledged in the setting. However, the default assumption for most other characters, and for the Together Forever programme itself, is that relationships are romantic and sexual, so asexual/aromantic characters will most likely need to communicate their preferences to their matches like they would in real life. If you want to play an asexual or aromantic character, please describe it in the "Other" option, including whether you still have a gender preference for your matches. We also encourage players to have their characters be open to negotiation and if they're matched with an ace / aro character rather than rejecting them out of hand.
What kind of experience would you like to get from this larp? *
We'd especially like to know what type of play are you after when it comes to romance, and what you would like to avoid. Star-crossed lovers, unreciprocated crush on someone, being stuck with a partner you hate, being too picky, being too desperate? Everyone will have several relationships, so you'll get a mix of things, but what kind of relationship would be your play priority?
Themes you'd like to avoid
Note: while the larp is supposed to have psychologically realistic characters and to be quite emotional, it's not intended as "misery porn". There will be no sexual abuse (or torture -- it's not that kind of dystopia!) in the character backgrounds, and any other heavy themes are opt-in. These might include: domestic abuse, bullying, harassment, bereavement, mental or physical illness, alcohol or drug abuse, religion. If you list any of these or other themes here, we will not put them in your character sheet. You can also request here not to have them in any of your scripted relationships. In the next section, the in-character sign-up form, you will be able to opt INTO any heavy themes that you'd like to play on.
Play duration *
While the official in-character playtime of the larp is 9 hours (including short breaks), some people might prefer to stay in character for some additional time between these hours, e.g. till late on Saturday or earlier in the morning on Sunday. Theoretically, you could stay in character from the start of the larp (around 1900 on Saturday) until the end (1800 on Sunday). We will match you in relationships with people who want a similar level of play duration. Note: we will not prioritise either preference during sign-up.

Explanation of the next section
The next section will be an in character sign-up form to the Together Forever programme. It will guide you through the character creation process, helping you flesh out an idea in a way compatible with the larp design. Please familiarise yourself with the Setting and Playstyle sections of our website to make sure your idea fits the setting and to find inspiration.

IMPORTANT: you should answer the questions on the next page AS THE CHARACTER YOU WANT TO PLAY, NOT AS YOURSELF.

If you really don't feel inspired you can leave out some of the questions or just give vague answers -- we will then fill in the gaps. However, we think you'll get a better experience if you come up with your own idea and fill out the form in an immersive way as that character. We will also slightly prioritise sign-ups with a well-defined character idea.

We may suggest changes/additions to the details you enter here, so consider them a starting point rather than a final character.

The main thing we'll add to your character are the pre-existing relationships to other participants of the programme: feel free to hint in your sign-up form at relationships that you would like your character to have and we'll do our best to link you up to other players' characters. E.g. a sibling you're constantly arguing with, a co-worker you briefly dated online, a BFF who has a secret crush on you etc.

Note: the in-character partner preferences and dis-preferences you give in the next section will both be incorporated into your experience, i.e. the Together Forever algorithm will most likely match you with at least one "good" partner and at least one "bad" one. If you want to avoid certain types of relationship AS A PLAYER, list them in the question above.
