KELLIE
Hello, My name is Kellie and my pronouns are she/her.

I currently live Tallahassee on the 15th of this month.

My preferred media is colored pencil. My preference is directly correlated with my strength as an artist; such a medium lends itself to a greater understanding of intention, of control, and the emphasis of line. Thus, my strength is my ability to be articulate, precise, and intentional in every, individual stroke.

Social justice issues are important to me, for sure. I believe the best way to address such issues is to spread awareness; to educate the masses on not only the greater inequities of our world but also the ones that are often overlooked, regarded as either irrelevant or nonexistent altogether.

One quirky fact about me is I am an avid fan of video games. I have been playing since I was as young as four. Now, as an adult, I've cultivated my skills and applied them towards my favorite fighting game: Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. I main Mewtwo and, on my best days, I am an unstoppable force of nature. It is my aspiration to play professionally. Perhaps Tallahassee may offer a path to such a dream.

MICAYLA
Hello, my name is Micayla LaVaglio and my preferred pronouns are she/ her.

I am currently in Tallahassee attending Florida State University remotely, but I am from a small town called Palm Coast that is on the southern east coast of Florida!

I love to produce art and tend to find joy in all sorts of mediums, but if I had to choose one I preferred, it would have to be either drawing or digital art. I feel like my strength as an artist is that I have experience in all types of mediums, and that I am both passionate and diligent in my work.

I also feel like social justice is a very important issue for all of us to work together on and deal with as a community. It is eminent that we all engage in meaningful conversation and learn to understand each other’s differences. Especially considering the times we see ourselves in today, I believe it is best to spread awareness and assisting each other during difficult situations.

Lastly, I would say that one quirky fact about me is that I love mythology and am currently reading The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (which I highly recommend!).
ANGIE
Hello, my name is Angela (Angie), she/her.

I am from South Florida and currently live in Tallahassee.

I work with charcoal and digital art, some pen and ink. I am currently trying to become a better painter though.

All social justice issues should be, at the very least, in the back of everyone’s minds . Those who are privileged should try to address these issues, at the very least, on a micro level in their everyday in order to lessen the effects of passivity when it comes to human lives and livelihoods. Lately, though, the topic of racism in the United States has been pushed to the forefront of my mind as it is directly effecting me and my family.

I am a certified seeing eye puppy trainer 🙂
KYLA
Hello~ My name is Kyla and I use she/her pronouns. I am from Tallahassee, Florida, where I also live currently. My preferred media is pen, watercolor, ink, and collage, but I also love to paint with oil and sculpt with clay or paper mache. I really love experimenting with any art media in mainly surrealism.

There isn't really any one social justice issue that is most important to me because the overall issue is you shouldn't make assumptions or treat anyone differently no matter their race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, etc. I just try my best to address equality in general by keeping an unassuming attitude and trying to listen and educate myself about those who are different from me at any opportunity.

I am an avid story lover whether it's reading them, playing them in video games, or occasionally writing them, and I also love Jazz un-ironically.
LAURYN
Hello my name is Lauryn and my pronouns are she/her.

I am from Naples, FL but am currently living in Tallahassee.

My preferred media is drawing and painting. However, I enjoy trying a little of everything art-related. From ceramics, printmaking, to photography and woodwork.

My strengths as an artist are that I am very detailed and time-oriented in anything I set out to do/make. I'm always trying to display and create my best. This means I try to have a plan, but I truly believe that any mistake can be transformed or reworked into something new. I don't think giving up and throwing in the towel is ever an option.

Social Justice is extremely important to me as an individual and should be to everyone. It is the balance between people and society. For me, equality is the most important aspect. I try to make sure that everyone is treated and looked at with the same amount of respect and care as anyone else.

In high school, I was the Drum Major for our 370 member Marching band.
DANNY
Hi!

My name is Danny, my pronouns are he/him

I was born Connecticut and currently live in South Florida. I am also attending school in Tallahassee at FSU

My preferred medias are drawing, painting, and graphic design/digital work. I think that a strength I have as an artist is my attention to detail and my willingness to make things as detailed as possible.

One social justice issue that is very important to me is climate change. I personally try to make efforts in my daily life to lessen the production of green house gasses into the atmosphere. This involves reducing my use of plastic products, reducing water usage, turning off appliances when not in use, carpooling, etc. I also try to raise awareness and encourage my friends to take on similar practices.

One fun/quirky fact about me is that I sing all the time and often instead of speaking my words in conversation I'll sing them instead haha!

I look forward to working with you :)
