LEAD 2022-2023 Executive Team

The LEAD Committee was established by the Temerty Faculty’s Office of Inclusion and Diversity (OID) to provide TFoM learners interested in equity, inclusion, diversity and social justice with opportunity and space to:

  • share equity work/insights with a supportive community
  • access information and resources to pursue Equity, Inclusion and Diversity (EDI)-based programming, research and scholarship
  • provide input on/contribute to equity initiatives, programs and events run by the OID
  • discuss and respond to EDI concerns of the community
  • and more!
All Temerty Faculty of Medicine learners with an interest in equity are eligible to join, including undergraduate and graduate students in Clinical, Rehab, and Basic Sciences programs, residents, fellows, post-doc fellows, and other trainees.

As part of the core executive group you will be leading the LEAD team and overseeing the working group leads and their projects over the upcoming academic year (September 2022-April 2023). You are expected to commit to a minimum of 2-4 hours a week (including meeting times), with increased hours close to events (e.g Anti-O-Symposium) 


As Co-Chair, you are expected to spearhead the LEAD committee, make executive decisions about working groups and team structure as well as support all working groups where needed. Co-chairs will lead team meetings once a month and plan action items for working groups. 

As Operations Officer, you are the second lead to the LEAD committee. You are responsible for facilitating communication, setting deadlines and supporting events (including the Anti-O-Symposium). 


As Communications Officer, you are the primary contact for all internal and external communications for LEAD. you will work closely will all working groups to ensure updates and accomplishments are summarized in the newsletter to be sent to LEAD's mailing list. You will communicate with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine's social media team to create social media posts through the OID accounts. 


As Financial Officer, you are responsible for applying to grants and securing funding for the working groups.
