Leadership is the ability to
influence a group toward the achievement of goals, passions, and purposes.
Purpose + Passion = Power
Your Passion will lead you to
your Purpose which will lead you to your Power!
Passion - It is the
ability of leaders to share your desires, loves, and vision, which motivates members to look to you for
leadership.
●
Sharing your
passions and excitements about what motivates you, brings hope and acceptance
to members as they relate to you.
●
As leaders, show
your passions by sharing your successes, your feelings about great projects and
the needs around us.
●
As leaders,
sharing your passions can fuel the fires of action in those around you.
●
“True passion attracts. If you have passion in your
business (leadership/club), the right people will be attracted to your
team(club).” Robert T. Kiyosaki
Purpose - The purpose of leadership is to inspire trust and
confidence in members of your club.
●
For GFWC Georgia
clubs, our purpose is General Federation of Women’s Clubs and GFWC Georgia’s
purpose.
●
As aspiring
leaders, we need to familiarize ourselves and our clubs with the events,
schedules, and projects of GFWC Georgia and GFWC.
●
As GFWC Georgia
begins a new administration, we move into new leadership and the excitement of
setting new goals and implementing new ideas. Use your excitement with this new
administration to bring your members into our clubs’ purpose.
●
An anonymous
person tells us: “When your passion and
purpose are greater than your fears and excuses, you will find a way.”
Power - Powerful leadership is the ability to take control of
a situation and guide people.
●
Faye Whitton
says: “The only safe ship in a storm is Leadership.”
●
In order to lead,
you need a basic understanding of these things:
- How to run a meeting.
- Organizational skills.
- Time management.
- Knowledge of your club members – their strengths and weaknesses,
their passions, and purposes.
●
Audre Lorde tells
us: “When I dare to be powerful-to use my
strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important
whether I am afraid.”
