Sustainability Champions Workshop May 2023 Registration Form

Sustainability Champions workshops are organised by the Anglican Diocese of Auckland for volunteer Sustainability Champions and those in our churches and organisations with an interested in sustainability and care of creation. We are a denominational partner with A Rocha Aotearoa NZ and invite all other fellow Eco-Church champions to join us.

This year we will focus on looking after the land and environment that we inhabit and taking collective action that can make a difference. In the morning, we will explore simple ways we can care for our church grounds (and green spaces at home) to facilitate flourishing in our local eco-systems and environment which benefits people and biodiversity.

In the afternoon, Tearfund Aotearoa NZ will share about the Global Plastics Treaty and how individuals and churches can get involved to push for a meaningful and equitable treaty from Aotearoa New Zealand.

The workshop will be held at St Matthews-in-the-City. Please be aware that there are NO FREE car parks at the church (There are two disability parks available for those with permits). There is an onsite Wilson Carpark which will cost $15 for 12 hours during weekends.

There are several public transport options as the church is in the heart of the city. Bikes and e-bikes can be parked inside the church for additional security.
