Lawrence Community Shelter - Advisory Board
The Lawrence Community Shelter Board of Directors is seeking community members to become Advisory Committee members to advise and assist the Board of Directors. Candidates to the Advisory Committee include but are not limited to the following: City and/or County employees; representatives of social service agencies or other non-profit entities; current and former guests of the shelter; shelter employees, individuals with lived experience. The Advisory Committee will select one or two of its members to attend meetings of the Board of Directors as a advisory and nonvoting guest.

What does implementation of restorative practices mean to you as it relates to homelessness?

*Restorative practices is a social science that studies how to improve and repair relationships between people and communities. The purpose is to build healthy communities, increase social capital, decrease crime and antisocial behavior, repair harm and restore relationships.
