Depression Detection on Social Media
Hello everyone!

You are invited to participate in the final year project titled "𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠".

This survey aims to understand the perspectives of the psychology students / mental health professionals / counselors towards the depressive posts on social media as well as the development of online depression detection system.

Here is some introduction to this project:

The online depression detection system is designed to analyse social media posts from specific target audiences (patients/students) to identify depression risks posts, so that immediate action could be taken to help people who are potentially depressed. It is also useful for medical professionals to monitor the mental status of the depressed patients in order to prescribe the treatment accordingly. Besides, school counselors could utilize the system to identify students who are potentially depressed and offer counseling to them.

The data gathered from this survey will be used for academic purpose only. This project is being carried out as a final year project for Bachelor of Computer Science at INTI International University by Ng Iris at INTI International University under the supervision of Ms. Harprith Kaur Rajinder Singh, who can be contacted at harprith.randhawa@newinti.edu.my. She would be pleased to discuss any doubts you may have about taking part in this project.
