If the student has a conflict that was planned before the required rehearsal or concert
is announced, the parent must communicate this conflict in writing to the director.
Established religious holidays are excused but should be communicated by the parent
using the Prior Commitment Form.

Absence Policy All students are REQUIRED to attend all scheduled sectionals, after school rehearsals, and performances. We realize that some situations warrant an excused absence from events. Excused absences will be considered for the following reasons: 

• Medical Emergency
• Death in the Family
• Religious Holiday
• Excused, curricular school absence.
• One time family event such as a wedding 

Excused absences are granted at the discretion of the directors. Please adhere to the following timeline when requesting excused absences: 

• Rehearsal/sectional outside of the school day- One Week in Advance.
• Concerts and major performances- Two Weeks in Advance 
• Contest or Festival – At least 1 month in advance 

If you are excused, you will complete the sectional makeup assignment and receive full credit for the missed sectional.

If you are unexcused, you will complete the sectional makeup assignment and receive up to half credit for the missed sectional.

If you fail to communicate your absence, regardless of excused or unexcused- you will receive a grade of a Zero.
