TALKS
The talks preferably should include the following parts, and abstracts may reflect these preferences:
(1) The problem to solve. What is the problem that the current methods or practices cannot handle?
(2) The solution. Focus mainly on the conceptual explanation, while mathematical/technical details should be supplementary.
(3) Technical implementation. What software or other tool could be used to run the analysis? If there are several, compare the possibilities, and give advice about which are recommended to use. If not trivial, you can present a practical guidance. Include relevant weblinks if lesser-known tool is provided.
Preferably, students with a BA degree which includes subjects in applied statistics (e.g., psychology, linguistics, biology, etc.) should understand these talks. This is essential if we want to keep the discussed methods accessible.
The length of the talks will be specified after all submissions have been sent, but expect to see around 15 minutes talks, plus considerable discussion time.
TUTORIALS
Interactive work in small groups, between 60 and 120 minutes. Participants may bring their own computers with the appropriate software installed on it. Participants will register separately for the tutorials.
