1. About
The Bodies in Translation Arts and Activism Directory recognizes, commemorates, and documents activism in the arts in Canada. In this project, ‘activist art’ refers to fat, aging, disability, d/Deaf, and mad art through a decolonizing lens. Bodies in Translation is creating this directory as a resource for artists, curators, programmers, researchers, and the general public to discover, connect, and engage with artists and their work.
You are receiving this form because you have been invited to be included in the directory. This form outlines our goals and practices, and provides you with the information you need to decide if you would like to participate in this project.
This project is produced by Bodies in Translation: Activist Art, Technology, and Access to Life (
https://bodiesintranslation.ca/) at the University of Guelph, an SSHRC-funded research project that explores the relationship between cultivating activist art and achieving social and political justice. Bodies in Translation is co-directed by Carla Rice and Eliza Chandler and our team is comprised of researchers, artists, curators, practitioners, and community members across Canada.
