1. 10th grade students have the opportunity to select courses they are interested in taking for the year during every hour except 4th Hour which is a Physical Education/Health course required for all 10th graders.
2. Some classes have a limited enrollment and students will be assigned on a first-come, first-served bases.
3. Classes without a minimum number of students signed up will not be offered.
4. Final printed schedules will be distributed at orientation.
5. This form MUST be submitted in order for a 10th grade student to attend classes.

HONORS COURSES: SCS offers honors courses in several academic areas. All honors courses are noted with the word "Honors" in front of the course name. For a full explanation of the advantages of taking honors courses, please refer to the document "Honors Courses - Q & A" on the SCS website (http://www.schaumburgchristian.com/honors-courses). As a reminder, all regular high school courses are considered College Preparatory Courses. To qualify for an honors course, a student must have earned at least a "B" in both semesters of the same subject area (math, science, English) in the preceding year. The student must also have demonstrated a pattern of completing work on time with good quality.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE: Foreign language is not required for graduation, but SCS strongly recommends that each student complete at least two years of a foreign language before graduating.

Activity Period period is a study hall for students not in Art or not in another scheduled activity such as a fine arts group rehearsal. Activity period does not count as your one allowed study hall (i.e. you may select Activity Period and select one Study Hall during another class period).
