Washington Elementary Classroom Request Guidelines: 2020-2021
Parents wishing to make a request for a particular style of teacher for their child for the upcoming school year must make the request in writing to the principal by submitting a completed Classroom Information Sheet. We will not be taking requests for specific teachers but welcome parent input on the style of teacher that best fits your child.
Special factor requests must be noted in writing on the Classroom Information Sheet. Examples of special factors are twins being together or separated, students at the same babysitter separated to give students a break, family concerns, etc. Given other circumstances and teacher recommendations, it is not always possible to honor these requests.
FORMS NEED TO BE COMPLETED ELECTRONICALLY BY TUESDAY, MAY 19.
All Classroom Information Sheets received by the deadline date of May 19, 2020, will be utilized when creating the class lists. However, the final placement decision is based upon a variety of factors including but not limited to; academic and social considerations, total class size, male/female ratio, and heterogeneous grouping.
The final decision on all student placement rests with the principal after due consideration of staff recommendations and parent input.
