4-9 inches of snow today?
Tell me about your dryland program, what you are doing, how often you are doing it, and what gains you have made that you can show me when I see you:
PRE said he wanted to be aggressive and get after it right away instead of Sammy Saving Up.  Tell me about how you can do that AND not trash your energy systems (or be ready with them) at the same time?
This clip is from the movie The Right Stuff about the first 15 years of the NASA Space program, these are the pilots trying to be the first astronauts.   They are the best of the best.  The record is 91 seconds...
Tell me about the guy that wanted to just set the record to look good and his comments vs the guys that helped each other be their best.  Every man in that room had Moxy, but it can look different.  How might your Moxy come out?
PRE's one thing was to give all, he always wanted to try to do that, and if he did, he could be content with the rest.  What's your ONE THING that you try to do every race that gives meaning to your art of swimming?
Ed Moses Part 3, he starts off saying that he wants to take his sport to another level and that's part of why he admires Prefointaine.
We all swim a little differently in practice than we do in a race, but how can we be ready to fire and endure our racing stroke if we don't use it in practice?
How does Ed describe his "line"?
How does Ed play the long game on a daily basis?
"You can't just go out there and work hard every day and give it your all and expect that's going to do it."  If working hard is the easy part, what's the hard part?
Why does he do his stability ball breast kicks with his chest lower than his hips?
What is Ed's focus and purpose in dryland training?
What about toys, why use all those crazy contraptions?
Ed made paddles to go on his feet.  Why do you think he likes this toy so much?  (How would they held get a full flexion with  a pushback and a close, NOT A SQUEEZE)
Why does Ed think creative dryland and water toys can be better for your swimming growth than just the weight room?
How does Ed describe the timing he's going for in breaststroke?
How does Ed use stroke count to train his breaststroke what's "good clock awareness"?
Ed is a "deep practice" kind of guy.  Describe how he develops his talents through deliberate practice?
Ed is surely a student of the sport, always trying to learn more to get better.  When he looks at his "line position" what's he going for and why?
He turns his body into a reaching streamline in between every stroke.  This is how every stroke begins and ends.
What about his knee and ankle flexion, what matters to him most there?
His heels are practically right above his knees while he hits his SpearW, notice his suit is right at the surface when he hits this position and gets ready to turn his ankles and fire forward.
His feet are going to turn all the way to the side, perpendicular to the leg,  with his toes pointing to the sides of the pool and he will push backwards with his heels to keep his feet as flat as possible for as long as possible.
Ed wants to anchor his arms a point away from the body, what's he want to get out of that move?
You can see Ed's puppet move on every stroke, but watch from 12:30-12:40 on the lower video feed and you will see him execute a perfectly timed puppet to SpearW set.   He kicks his head OVER the top of his anchor.  Practice this in the mirror, can you feel the rhythm of his timing?

Why isn't there ever a perfect race?  If not then what are we going for instead?
