Amherst County Public Schools is proud to announce a continued partnership with the Central Virginia YMCA in providing the Power Scholars Academy for the summer of 2024.
Deadline to register is Monday, May 13, 2024.ACPS is planning to operate two Power Scholars Academies - one at Central Elementary and one at Madison Heights Elementary. The main focus of the program will be learning loss for students who are 1 to 2 years behind in
both reading and math in current grades K (
rising 1st, 1st (
rising 2nd), 2nd
(rising 3rd), 3rd
(rising 4th), 4th (
rising 5th). Current 5th graders will participate in the middle school program and need to use the middle school form.
Students will participate in remediation and extension activities from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm, Mondays-Fridays, June 10th - July 3rd. Wednesday, June 19, will be a holiday.
Therapeutic Day Treatment Services and school-based outpatient services will be provided during this summer program.
Request for participation does not guarantee that your child is accepted for the summer Power Scholars program. Acceptance will be confirmed by a follow up letter from the site coordinator.
