Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV)
Casper Pride (www.casperpride.com) in partnership with Unicorn Solutions LLC Principal and Founder Elliott Hinkle (www.unicornsolutions.org) and community volunteers are excited to offer FREE workshops and an evening celebration to the Casper trans community and their allies in celebration of the trans community on Trans Day of Visibility 2022! Please see below details for the day including workshop descriptions and then register for all that you plan to join us for. See you there!

What events will there be to attend?

Workshop 1 - Supporting the Transgender Community - Allyship in Action: 1:00-3:00pm @ Casper College Physical Science Building Room 103

Workshop 2 - Foundations of Gender Affirming Care: 3:30-5:30pm @ Casper College Physical Science Building Room 103

Evening Celebration: 6:30-9:00pm light hors d'oeuvres, speakers, celebration and community @ Occasions by Cory 303 S. Wolcott Upstairs Space.

Evening Celebration description: After the workshops in the afternoon we will come together to celebrate the trans community on TDOV! Elliott Hinkle, originally from Casper, Wyoming, will open with a speech reflecting on their own identity, their experience growing up in Wyoming, and their hope for the trans community, followed by voices from the trans community locally, and ending the evening with intentional opportunities to connect with the community and socialize. We can't wait to see you there!

Workshop Descriptions
1. Supporting the Transgender Community – Allyship in Action: In this workshop, presented by Elliott Hinkle of Unicorn Solutions LLC, participants will learn foundational knowledge for understanding the trans community both in terminology, data, and historical context. Additionally, this workshop will provide participants with ideas and tips to be an ally to transgender youth and adults. The workshop will wrap up with time and space for participants to ask questions and seek information to increase their capacity to support this community. Who is this workshop for? All community members curious about gaining foundational knowledge of this community, expanding what you already know, or contributing to the learning environment. This includes youth and young adults, parents/caregivers, teachers, medical staff, and the general community at large.

2. Foundations of Gender Affirming Care: In this workshop participants will hear from health professionals in Wyoming who work with transgender populations in physical and mental health care settings along side transgender community members. This workshop will address common pitfalls that impede equitable care and offer guidance on best practices. The workshop will wrap up with time and space for participants to ask questions and seek information to increase their capacity to support this community in their own work. Who is this workshop for? While the primary audience is health care providers, it is open to ALL, including families, caregivers, and youth who may benefit from this information.
