This year's FIRST Lego League (FLL) theme is "Masterpiece"!  Participating teams in Pre-K through 2nd grade will celebrate the roles our STEM skills play in the arts and will imagine and innovate new ways to create and communicate art across the globe.  New for this term, our Pre-K and K students will additionally be introduced to coding with VEX 123 STEM labs!  1st and 2nd graders will be given opportunities to build and to code with LEGO WeDo 2.0 or Spike Essentials modules.

Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades will participate in an exciting VEX GO competition offered in Winter 2024.  For 6th grade and up, we are excited to offer VEX IQ STEM labs or VEX IQ Competition.  Note that the VEX IQ offering is dependent on registration numbers.  Please read the descriptions below for some of the fun and engaging STEM activities we've developed for your children.
Sessions are mostly scheduled for after school on full Mondays or on full Fridays.  Please refer to the calendar below for session times by team/grade.

Registration Fee *
Payment is due upon registration.    Please process your payment before submitting this form at the following link.  Alternatively, you may submit a check to the front office.  Checks should be written out to "St. Brendan School" with "Lego Club" and your child's name in the memo line.

Please select your method of payment.  If you had to select a waitlist for program choice, no payment is due until a spot opens up for your child.  If financial assistance is required, please contact Robotics@school.saintbrendan.org

Note that the Registration Fee Waiver option is no longer available as we are well staffed for coaching at this time!  However, we are always looking for subs, future coaches. and support volunteers, so please do still indicate your volunteer preferences.  The coordinator will work to help get you involved with the club!
Volunteering
*
Our robotics program is highly dependent on parent volunteers to keep it running and evolving.  Would you like to volunteer as a coach or in a support role (e.g., T-shirts, inventory, event referee)?  STEM experience is not required, and training will be provided!  Yes, this counts toward your annual service hours for St. Brendan's School!  Little or a lot - anything helps to keep this amazing program going for our kids.

Volunteer coaching benefits:
- 1 waiver of registration dues if you can commit to coaching at least 75% of assigned sessions .  A total of 5 waivers (i.e., 1 waiver per coach) can be offered this term on a first-come-first-serve basis.  The coordinator will confirm your waiver.
- Free extended care for your children on the afternoon you are coaching!
- Up to 15 service hours available this term!
Parent Coaching Subs
*
Regular coaching volunteers may not be able to staff all of your child's sessions due to unexpected circumstances (e.g., illness, bad traffic).  In this case, the session would have to be cancelled, and your child would be sent to extended care.  Would you be able to serve as a substitute to keep those particular sessions scheduled in the event of a coaching cancellation?
Company match
Corporate sponsorship is most welcome and helps keep down our registration fees!  Matching donations could even be possible with your company (e.g., Amazon, Boeing, Microsoft, Phillips, Stryker).  Please indicate if you would like to submit a matching donation.
