The Death of Faefolk is a cross-genre adventure that mixes fantasy and death education which serves as both entertainment and an access point into heavy discussions. In the book five youths bond over the death of a stray dog which leads them through deep forest explorations of ancestry, magic, and care for the elderly. As the youth delve deeper into studies on death and dying they find that their senses open more and more to appreciating the preciousness of life.
In this 3 part evening workshop we'll talk about the book but also our own experiences with death and dying which includes our fears, our sadnesses and our curiosities. Don't worry, the book is not all doom and gloom there's also humor and light hearted fun. This book also touches upon racism and gender identity.
We'll start each session with a short meditation and then delve into the book 1/3 at a time. Each session will be one hour long. All are welcome to join.
