Relay for Life Ennis invites all cancer survivors to attend the Cancer Survivors’ Reception and the Survivors’ Lap of Honour which opens Relay for Life Ennis on 17th June at 2pm in Tim Smythe Park, Ennis.

The survivors' lap is an inspirational start to the event where cancer survivors of all ages are invited to begin the Relay event by walking the first lap of the course, cheered on by your family, friends and carers plus teams from the community.

Relay For Life is a community celebration honouring current and former cancer patients, their families, friends and carers. It is a unique, empowering and fun event in which everyone can participate and make a real difference for people living with cancer right now, and those who may be diagnosed in the future.

Why our survivors attend:
- Meet and talk with other survivors…some in treatment, others who have been survivors for decades.
- Learn about services and programmes the Irish Cancer Society has to offer to cancer survivors and their families.
- Experience the healing and strength of being around others who have survived cancer and want to participate in Relay For Life.

Once you have completed this form, just come along to Tim Smythe Park just after 1:30 for a 2pm start to collect your Survivors t-shirt and take part in the Survivors lap and reception. Feel free to bring along your family and carers to enjoy the main event!

Relay for Life is a unique and beautiful opportunity to celebrate those that have survived cancer, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and to stand shoulder to shoulder with those battling cancer. Relay For Life is a celebration of solidarity.

Teams will sign up to take turns walking the track with at least one team member walking around the track at all time for 24 hours.

While they are doing that, a festival of fun and entertainment takes place which unites the community in the fight against cancer. Funds raised at Relay enables the Irish Cancer Society to continue its life saving work.

Everyone from the community is invited to come along and experience this inspiring event of celebration and commemoration at anytime throughout the 24 hours.

The Candle of Hope ceremony takes place later in the evening at 10pm. Before the event, everyone in the community is invited to dedicate a Candle of Hope bag to someone they know who has been touched by cancer. Hundreds of candle bags that have been personalised with messages of hope and remembrance are lit during a moving ceremony involving music and speeches.
