This week's Gospel continues the story of Jesus gaining followers. The most important line in the gospel is when Jesus first speaks during the Gospel of Mark, "This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." Jesus makes an urgent plea to the people to not wait, but to start to follow the gospel now and as a result he gains a few more followers.
Why do you think people are following Jesus without asking any questions? *
If Jesus were to pass by you today, would you drop everything you were doing to follow him? *
When Jesus says, "Repent, and believe in the gospel", what do you think he meant? (He wanted people to understand the urgency that they needed to start following Jesus now, it wasn't something that should be put off for another time.) *
Do you have any questions about the lesson?
