Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”  (Luke’s Gospel chapter 4 verses 18-19.)
Jesus did more than proclaim good news to the poor.  Jesus is good news, but how?

Poverty is bigger than not having money or food.  Poverty is a crushing combination of being cut off from people, alone, isolated, filled with shame or a sense of inferiority; powerlessness, humiliation, fear, hopelessness, depression and the lack of a voice.

This means that poverty is not only a lack of an academic education or material resources.  Poverty is not only caused by systemic social injustice or personal immorality.  Poverty is defined in the Bible as the lack of a loving relationship with God, a poor view of self, the curse of sin which breaks family and community relationships and the mistreatment of our surroundings.

Understanding how Jesus beats poverty will help us to reset, refocus and rebuild at Holy Trinity.

We can begin to rebuild by looking for ways God is already at work in our parish (local area).

To what extent  do  you agree with these statements:

People in our local area are all worshiping the true & living God together, through faith in Jesus.

People in our local area love themselves and love one another because they know that God has made them in His image AND they know the love and mercy of Jesus.

Your idea for a ministry
Rebuilding gospel ministry at Holy Trinity after the lock downs.

Spend some time thinking and praying about what we could do together in the future at Holy Trinity.  If you need help, ask someone you trust.  If you can’t fill everything in, you can leave blanks.  A bit of an idea is better than none.  You might want to think about:
What other churches you know of are doing, in this country or other countries.
What you have read in the Bible.
What you have dreamed about or had visions of.
What you have talked to your friends or family about (you might want to fill this in together).

What is the name of your proposed ministry?
What is your name?
What will happen?  Where?  Who is needed to run it?  Who is it for?  What will be needed to make it happen?
1. How will this ministry enable more people to worship the one true and living God together through Jesus?
2. How will this ministry enable more people to learn to love themselves and others because they know God has made them in His image and they know the grace and love of Jesus?
3. How will this ministry enable more people to live at peace and be strengthened in their families and our community through the teachings of Jesus?
4. How will this ministry enable more people to look after our surroundings better?
