In an effort to promote a healthy PSU work environment we encourage our community to strive for a healthy work/life balance to foster a community of care and promote student, faculty and staff retention and well being.

I am pledging self care. I pledge to:

take a 30-60 minute break every day away from my laptop, desk, and email.

take a 15-20 minute walk every day pending weather.

take time to myself when feeling overwhelmed.

I am pledging boundaries. I pledge to:

minimize multitasking and be present in a meeting or class to focus my attention

prioritize, and focus my attention on projects and tasks that are the most important

remove Outlook/Teams/etc. from my mobile phone to allow for personal time

close Outlook/Teams/social media/etc. when working on an unrelated task

set reasonable expectations for myself and my colleagues

allow myself time off and understand the same for others: evenings, weekends, mental health days, etc

notify people if I have an emergency, so I can take the time away from work I may need
