WAVES IN HIGH PARK:
We will dance in High Park on soft grassy ground, surrounded by trees on all sides with shade and sun for all our preferences. With birds, dragonflies, clouds and sun overhead, we will be moved by what moves us, bringing our heart, mind, spirit and body together. This dance event will invite us to slow down and pay attention. We will move it all through our dance, with the rhythms that elicit different states, with the elements, in each moment and with each other, grounded and present, creative wild and free.
WALKING WAVES IN COLONEL SAMUEL SMITH PARK:
We will go on an approximately 1hr15min dance-walk, set to music as a group along a gravel path, sometimes stepping onto the beach, sometimes on a dirt path near the water, exploring our relationship to moving forward, with the group, dancing in dyads and by ourselves. We will pay attention, tune in, and move forward. No dance walk will be exactly the same. I have been dance-walking along this path a number of times through the summer and it is an amazing experience to be connected with nature. Volume of the headsets can be adjusted to hear the wind, waves and birds, or music can be pumped up to fully inspire your dance. When the dance is done, you can choose to walk in silence, socialize with others, or you can branch off and stay for a while, enjoying the sunset.
This location is very accessible by TTC. The 44 bus from Kipling station goes *right* to our starting location. Or you can take the 501 bus along Queen/Lakeshore. By bike it is an approx. 35 min bike ride west, from Colbourne Lodge Drive and Sunnyside Beach along the Lakeshore Trail (protected bike lanes, bike path and small streets with sharrows). By car, approx. 15 minutes drive from High Park. Free parking.

For both events, Silent Disco Headsets will be provided. All equipment will be sanitized between each use. If you attend regularly, you may have the choice to use the same numbered headset every time.

*Tiered pricing is available so that those of us with more can share, and those of us who could use some support can receive it. When you register at the Supporter rate, a portion of your registration fee is applied toward another dancer's reduced-rate spot. If a lower price will make the classes accessible for you, please register at the 'Supported' rate. If you know you want to dance regularly, and these prices are a barrier for you, please email me at
elisa.hollenberg@gmail.com for a possible partial scholarship.
CREW:
I am seeking crew members for both events. This role involves coming 15-30 minutes early to help set up and hand-out headphones, and to stay for 15-30 minutes afterwards, to help clean-up/collect headphones. During the class, you are a dancer like everyone else, with no crew responsibilities. The energy exchange for the crew role is free admission to class on the date that you help out. You must make a commitment to the class date that you crew, or find a replacement among other crew members. Please indicate your interest on the form below.
