Integrating Visual Arts for healing in Counselling- SERIES- II (October, November 2020)
East West Center for Counselling and Training has begun a series with counselling and other
art forms used as therapeutic tools.

Presenting to you with second of the series An online certificate course in Visual arts
and Counselling. The emphasizes of the course is on trauma informed approach using arts in
counselling with children.

A 24-hour training program which introduces skills and techniques of using creative visual arts for healing in a trauma informed approach in counselling with children. The training will be conducted for 3-hours on 4 weekends. The training is paves way to experiential learning. Aiding in increasing the practitioners tool kit for working with children.

Who can join: Mental health professionals link Counsellors, Psychologist, Social workers etc. Who are interested in using arts therapy and visual arts in their work.

Facilitators:

Roshni Bhatia is an artist and art therapist currently based in Bangalore, India. She is the Co-founder and Creative Director of FoundSpace, a platform for cross-cultural and multidisciplinary collaboration of the arts and mental wellness.  She has worked internationally with children and youth with experiences of complex trauma in various settings such as care homes, juvenile centers, schools, and more. She has presented her arts-based research on Embodiment, complex trauma, and media arts at the ANZACATA Conference in Brisbane, Australia, and was also fully funded to attend and exhibit at the IASD Dream Conference in the Netherlands in 2019.


Ms. Magdalene Jeyarathnam, Founder Director of East West Center for Counselling and
Training, She is an Expressive Arts therapist and board certified Psychodramatist. She is
currently completing her PEP Certification, she is in the international committee of ASGPP
and is also on the board of directors of International Association of Group Psychotherapy and
Group Process (IAGP).
