NCDA International Student Services Committee 2020-2021 Interest Form For New Members
The NCDA International Student Services Committee (ISSC) aims to increase the understanding of career development experiences and the needs of international students. ISSC Involves a diverse team of dedicated career services practitioners who work with international students on a daily basis. This committee advocates for the enhancement of culturally competent career development services, programs and resources that help international students create meaningful career paths in the U.S. and beyond. If you are passionate about increasing the understanding of career development experiences and the needs of international students, please consider joining us. This committee is a working group where each member is an active participant that is involved in the work we produce, therefore you must participate in at least one sub-team and support their project(s).

The Resources sub-team mainly focuses on the development, collection and dispersing international student related resources. This team also produces the biennial Resources Guide for career practitioners, international students and employers. This year there will be a winter update from the completed summer Resources Guide project to ensure we share new resources and information in terms of how COVID and government policies have affected international students. Are you interested in joining the Resources Team? *
The Research sub-team mainly focuses on performing research, sending out surveys to career development professionals, collecting data, analyzing, creating content and sharing information collected from respondents. Individuals on the team can also contribute to write-up research findings for future publications. This year there will be a focus on writing a peer-reviewed journal manuscript that will hone in on the overall Promoting Social Justice for the Career Development of International Students in a Climate of Uncertainty research study, analyze findings, and implications as well as presenting this research. Are you interested in joining or remaining on the Research Team? *
The Social Media sub-team (previously known as the LinkedIn Group) mainly creates & shares content about working with international students for career development professionals. This team will continue to manage the "NCDA: International Student Career Development Professionals" LinkedIn group with sharing resources and contributing to and writing articles. This team will also take on creating a campaign and developing video content for our new online video library on YouTube. Are you interested in joining the Social Media Team? *
