Guidelines for Applying for Funds

By policy, the Thorp Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau shall consider requests for funding only in advance of an event or commencement of a project—please plan ahead to have your requests filed with the Thorp Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau a minimum of 30 days prior to event.
By state law, in order for an event or project to be eligible for tourism funding by the Thorp Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau, it must be reasonably likely to create overnight stays at one of our hotels/motels.
New or recently established events or projects will receive funding priority. Recurring events or projects shall continue to be considered for funding, but should be making every effort to move towards self-sustaining financial practices.
The Thorp Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau, at its discretion and in unique circumstances, may choose to approve funding requests not falling within the parameters of these guidelines.
The Thorp Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau prefers for a representative of the group applying for the funds to attend the meeting at which their application is being considered.
