Caring Crafts Volunteer Sign-up!
Hello Huskies! Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your passion for volunteering with your passion for crafts? Northeastern University's Caring Crafts was created with the goal of connecting with the elderly community through arts and crafts. We wanted to organize crafting events in various rehabilitation centers and nursing homes in Boston. Check out our past crafts at: https://neucaringcrafts.wordpress.com/

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, in person events have understandably been delayed for an indeterminate amount of time for everyone's safety. However, we still want to be able to provide the opportunity for individuals in elder care facilities to participate in crafting. We believe this is even more important in these times where isolation can be hard.

As such, we have brainstormed on re-imagining our model to virtual craft kits! In this plan, we would mail or drop off craft kits pre-packaged for individual use or bulk packaged (based on facility preference). Kits would include all the material required to make the craft and a printout of the craft instructions. A link to a video tutorial of the craft would also be provided if technology is available to play this video, and there would be the option to hold live sessions over a video conferencing software if desired.

We are hoping to find volunteers to help out with this endeavor! Please email us at: NEU.caringcrafts@gmail.com
