PSA/Psi Chi Board Member Application Fall 2023
We are glad you are interested in a position within the PSA/Psi Chi organization for the Fall 2023 semester and onwards. Our organization runs smoothly because of the dedication of its members and board officials. Board officials handle the week to week topics discussed during club meetings as well as finding resources to help Psychology students succeed in not only their classes, but in their future career goals.

We currently have thirteen potential positions available for the Fall 2023 semester. Those positions are listed down below as well as a short description.

PSA POSITIONS
1. PSA Treasurer: Responsible for handling any money, such as incoming money from events and providing board members with reimbursements. Required to undergo ASI fiscal certification, to keep in contact with Student Life & Development advisor, and keep record of our account balances. Also responsible for leading fundraising efforts for our club and filling out necessary paperwork.

2. PSA Historian: Responsible for taking pictures at events and general meetings and posting them on Instagram for public viewing. In charge of any projects involving photos of the club, including creating fliers for advertising the club for general meetings, Psych Week, and Email Blasts. Also responsible for up keep of social media accounts including Instagram and Discord.

3. PSA CLASC Representative: Acts as a liaison between the College of Liberal Arts Student Council and PSA, and must attend all CLASC meetings. Ensure all documentation through Student Life & Development (SLD) has been approved through CLASC, as well as advertise CLASC events at general meetings, great presentation skills and assist in grant hearing process at the end of the year.

4. PSA Secretary: Send out blast emails to club subscribers via Mail Chimp with flyers for next general meeting, Psi Chi Applications [if applicable], any other events/social, and 3-4 Research/Job/Volunteer/Internship Opportunities. Add subscribers to Mail Chimp audience and check the Gmail regularly (labeling and organize emails). Take meeting notes for BOTH board meetings and general meetings.

5. PSA Meeting Coordinator: Responsible for the idea, planning, and execution of bonding events and meetings, including board only events and general member events. Helps create general meeting PowerPoints in conjunction with Presidents and organize general meeting speakers and topic ideas. This position was created in response to COVID-19 and holds these related position responsibilities: Keeps board members, advisors, and club members up to date on zoom links for meetings, manages zoom chat in conjunction with secretaries, supervises zoom meetings to maintain a respectful and pleasant meeting for all (muting/removing participants as needed).

6. PSA Vice President: Act as a second in command to the president when overseeing and managing activities related to the board and club, working closely with the president and assisting them in their workload: Should be expected to take on up to half of the presidential “to-do’s” in order to help the club meetings and events go smoothly. Send Dr. Span the general meeting flyer the morning of board meetings and general/board meeting reminders to faculty advisors. Organize Google Drive by putting documents into their corresponding folders

PSI CHI POSITIONS

7. Psi Chi President: Oversee and manage all activities that are related to the board and club. Coordinate with Faculty Advisors, ASI & SLD to confirm dates and other arrangements. Create agendas during board meetings and PowerPoint slides for general meetings. Delegating board member responsibilities & actively checking in and act as moderators during general meetings.

There are certain requirements to maintain a board member position with the PSA/Psi Chi organization.

Maintain good academic standing with the University (2.5 and higher)
Commit to at least 3 out of 5 general meetings, and all board meetings (Meetings are every Wednesday from 5-6pm) in person (PSY 324)
Psi Chi positions require a student to be a psychology major in addition to being an official member of the Psi Chi organization
