Entries close Friday 14 June 2024 at 5.00pmThe ‘Life in Pictures’ short film competition is a collaboration between the Department of Communities and Revelation Perth International Film Festival which aims to challenge attitudes towards ageing.
An initiative of the first State Seniors Strategy, and as part of the upcoming Western Australian Government campaign against ageism, the aim is to raise community awareness about ageism and promote positive ageing.
The competition will encourage people – the filmmakers and viewers – to stop and think about how we view growing older. It will stimulate discussion about ageing in a positive way.
Filmmakers will be encouraged to use good story telling, the ability to move and influence an audience, and to promote conversations about ageing.
Filmmakers are asked to challenge perceptions of ageing and growing older and to consider how older people add value to our communities. This includes their contribution to families, culture, the economy, volunteering, and tourism.
Entries will be received in three categories, with prizes tailored to each category:
- 17 years old and under (either individual or group (school) winner)
- 18-59 years old
- 60+ years old
