Introduction and
Definitions
In recent years, the concept of smart cities has gained
significant attention to create more efficient and sustainable
urban environments. At its core, a smart city is a city that leverages advanced
technology and data-driven solutions to improve the quality of life for its
citizens. One important aspect of a smart city is smart parking, which involves using technology to improve parking management, reduce congestion, and
enhance the overall parking experience.
Digital Twins are
virtual replicas of physical objects or systems that are created using
real-time data, simulations, and other digital technologies. In the context of
smart cities, digital twins are being used to create virtual representations of
entire cities, allowing for the testing of various scenarios and the development
of more effective policies and strategies.
The Metaverse is a concept that refers to a virtual world or
environment that is created through the use of augmented reality, virtual
reality, and other digital technologies. It is envisioned as a shared space where
people can interact with each other and with digital objects and systems in various ways.
This questionnaire is prepared for the general public, with the
objective to elicit socio-techno-economic requirements for the development
of a smart parking solution using Digital Twin and Metaverse technologies. The
questionnaire aims to collect data on the needs and preferences of end-users
regarding smart parking solutions, the potential benefits and challenges of
using digital twin and metaverse technologies in the context of smart parking,
and the economic and socio-technical factors that could affect the adoption and
sustainability of such solutions. The information gathered through this
questionnaire will inform the development of smart parking solutions that are
user-centric, economically and technically feasible, and contribute to creating
more livable, sustainable, and equitable urban environments.
