CAS will award a $1000 undergraduate scholarship to 50 Fall 2024 newly admitted (first time freshmen and transfer) students who register for 12+ credits (9+ CAS credits) and successfully complete this application. This scholarship has a 3-step eligibility process. Here's How it Works...
The deadline to complete all 3 steps is July 15, 2024:
- Step 1 - Review the requirements: be newly admitted to UAA for Fall 2024, be a degree-seeking student in a CAS Undergraduate Degree program, be primarily a UAA student, have a 2.0+ cumulative college GPA (if applicable), meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and register for a minimum of 12+ credits (9+ credits must be CAS Anchorage campus-based courses, in-person or online).
- Step 2 - Complete the application form below.
- Step 3 - To be awarded $1000, be among 50 CAS newly admitted undergraduate students drawn in our lottery, stay enrolled through the add/drop deadline, September 6, 2024, and receive final eligibility approval by UAA Financial Aid.
Getting Prepared to Register:- Be fully admitted to the University of Alaska Anchorage as a degree-seeking student.
- Course Placement: Some classes require course placement steps or other prerequisites in order to register. This can include sending scores from SAT/ACT/AP, doing a Writing Sample, and/or taking the ALEKS math placement test.
- Seek Academic Advising: The goal of academic advising is to assist students in developing educational plans consistent with career and life goals. To find your advisor, visit the UAA Academic Advising webpage or Navigate360, UAA's mobile app and advising platform.
- Plan Your Class Schedule: View the Fall 2024 Class Schedule and Schedule Planner to search for courses and build a schedule. Here is a video tutorial.
- Fall 2024 Registration is open to all students beginning April 8, 2024. Follow this Step-by-Step Registration Guide.
- Plan Semester Expenses: Apply for Financial Aid. Every degree-seeking student at UAA should submit a Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) each year. It is the key to financial aid, including federal grants, loans, work study, and UAA and State of Alaska grants and scholarships. The 2024-25 FAFSA is used for 7/1/24-6/30/25 aid. See detailed information here about UAA tuition and fees for each semester. The UAA Financial Aid Office is available for appointments and walk-in assistance.
Please read carefully, review, and complete the form below.
