General questions to ask on a daily basis.

1. What happens in this text?

2. What does it communicate about the Triune God?

3. What is a key takeaway for me?  How does this impact my life today?

Monday, 4.22.24:  Acts 2:42-3:10

1. Last Saturday you were asked to reflect on Acts 2:42-47.  Review your responses to those questions.

2. How do you see the description of the Church described above impacting the ministry of the Apostles in Acts 3:1-10?

3. What new qualities or characteristics of the Apostles and early church are presented in chapter three and how does that point to Jesus?

*

Tuesday, 4.23.24: Acts 3:11-26

1. A consistent theme in Luke’s first volume (the Gospel of Luke) was that Jesus’ miracles always pointed to the coming Kingdom of God (or kingdom of heaven) which Jesus had come to establish.  The miracles were often tied to teaching.  How do you see Peter and John following their Master’s lead in this scripture?

2. How does the LORDship of Christ inform your perception and requests for God’s divine intervention?

*

Wednesday, 4.24.24: Acts 4:1-12

1. What was it that angered the Sadducees about Peter and John’s preaching?

2. The Sadducees and Pharisees disagreed sharply over this issue of resurrection, yet they are questioned not about their theology, but about the miracle they performed and under whose authority.

3. Does Peter change his message concerning Jesus when answering to the religious leaders?  If so, how?

*

Thursday, 4.25.24: Acts 4:13-22

1. This was the same body that had tried Jesus and eventually handed him over to Pilat to be crucified.  Needless to say, the stakes are high for Peter and John at this moment. However, while the Father’s will was for Jesus to be crucified for our transgressions, the Father’s will for these apostles is that they be witnesses of the triumph of Jesus.

3. What impresses you as you read about Peter and John’s encounter with these religious leaders?

*

Friday. 4.26.24: Acts 4: 23-31

1. What do you notice about this passage?

2. What was similar to the events that happened on Pentecost?

*

Saturday, 4.27.24: Acts 4: 32-37

1. We are again made aware of the believers state of mind and heart and how they expressed their devotion to God.

2. If you think about Acts 2:42-47 and this passage as two bookends; what might Luke be wanting to communicate concerning transformation in the life of these early believers?

*

Sunday, 4.28.24: Reread Acts 2:42 - 4:37

Review your reflections from the week.

1. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you how these chapters inform your walk with Jesus.
