Graham County Schools Return to School Fall Registration Form
IMPORTANT - PLEASE INDICATE YOUR STUDENTS' PLANS FOR RETURN TO SCHOOL FALL 2020-21.
This information is critical for the district to be able to plan for students' return.
Graham County Schools has been working diligently for months planning our “Return to Learn” in August for students and staff. We have received important guidance and requirements from state government and health officials. On July 14, 2020, Governor Cooper and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and the State School Board announced that schools are released to operate under Plan B for the reopening of schools beginning on August 17, 2020.
What is Plan B? Plan B includes (but is not limited to):
• Reduced capacity of students and staff in school building at one time to ensure that 6 feet distance can be maintained when people are stationary
• Masks required of all students K-12 and staff when they are or may be within 6 feet of another person
• 5 reusable, cloth masks provided to students and staff
• Daily/regular cleaning and sanitizing of facilities
• Daily temperature and symptom screening of students and staff
• Social distancing to be utilized as a protection in school buildings or on buses
• Parent choice offered for remote online learning
o If you choose remote learning for your child, please understand you will be making that commitment for at least the first 9 weeks of school
As Graham County Schools works to finalize our plans for instruction under Plan B, we now must hear from each of our student’s families! As parents and guardians of students in Graham County Schools, we value your input as we craft our plans. Please take a few minutes and complete the “Return to School Fall Registration Form” by Monday, July 20 at the linked survey:
