Reporting Form for Harassment and Discrimination

IDC upholds high standards in artistry and safety within this industry. IDC takes all reports of harassment, violence, and/or discrimination incredibly seriously. If you or someone you know has been subjected to harassment, violence, and/or discrimination by a staff member, anyone who is certified by IDC, or anyone pursuing certification with IDC, you are encouraged to report it. IDC is committed to non-retaliation for filing a complaint. IDC has two options for reporting.

Option 1: This form, The Reporting Form for Harassment and Discrimination. This would be an option if you do not wish to engage in the full accountability process (see below) or feel it doesn't reach the level of a violation of the Professional and Ethical Agreements, but still want to elevate an incident. This form can also be used if you are unsure of the individual’s status with IDC.

This form allows for the option to remain anonymous, but that does limit our ability to take action if needed. Please Note: IDC is unable to take punitive action based solely on anonymous reports. Anonymous reports will be retained for record keeping purposes only.

All candidates for certification with IDC are required to complete a full background check, including a criminal background check as well as review of IDC internal records and reports. Anything submitted in this form is considered in an internal background check before a trainee is eligible for certification to help us vet candidates.

Option 2: In addition to a full background check, Certified Professionals and those seeking certification are required to uphold our Professional and Ethical Agreements, and engage in the corresponding Accountability Process. We recommend reviewing that process as it does come with a higher level of involvement in the process from all parties. The Professional and Ethical Agreements is a means of more deeply reviewing a report and following the Accountability Process as an actionable step.

If IDC becomes aware of a pattern of behavior or multiple reports regardless of whether they have been reported though the Professional and Ethical Agreements reporting structure, we may elect to engage that process ourselves.

As appropriate, and under advisement of legal council, IDC will investigate this concern and contact any necessary authorities under legal obligation.
