Meridian will have school the day of the eclipse, April 8. Our choice to remain open aligns with the local districts around us. Our expectation is that all students will be present on Eclipse Day. Your student's attendance is how we ensure funding as a charter school.

We have an amazing day planned for our students. We will provide safety glasses for all students and instruct them in their proper use and the importance of wearing them.

We expect your student to be in attendance and be a part of the fun activities we will have planned for the day. However, to help us plan for numbers and outside space to view the event, we need you to fill out the following form. If you have students in multiple grades, please be sure to fill out the form for each student in each grade.

Option 1: My student will be at school all day and will participate in the events with school-provided safety glasses.

Option 2: My student will be at school all day but I wish to complete an opt-out form for the eclipse viewing. I wish for them to stay inside.

Option 3: My student will be at school in the morning, but will be picked up between 10 a.m. and noon.

This option allows your student to participate in some of the activities at school and be counted present for attendance purposes while still allowing you to experience the eclipse with your student. Attendance is taken at 9:30 a.m.

Option 4: My student will not attend school on April 8.

By choosing this option, your student will incur an unexcused absence and our school will not get funding for that day from your student.
