ECMS Advanced Content Appeal Letter
School Year 2023-2024
Elbert County Middle School strives to meet the needs of all students and place them in the best and most appropriate learning environment. Student achievement data is used to place students in Advanced Content classes. These classes are taught with greater rigor and depth. The multiple criteria approach has been developed to identify students who have demonstrated exceptional strengths in a content area.
If at any time a student has not been placed in a desired Advanced Content class, an appeals process has been established. This appeal allows the parent and student to request placement in the desired Advanced Content class if minimum placement scores are met and as seating allows. The parent and student must understand the expectations of an advanced content class and be willing to meet those expectations.
Appeals will be based on the student's content grade from the previous year and teacher recommendation.
Please complete the form below if you elect to appeal an Advanced Content class decision. Once your appeal has been received and a determination has been made regarding the request, you will be notified of the decision. Seat availability is limited and appeals are reviewed in the order they are received.
