ABOUT THE POSITION:
Bike Park Trails Volunteer
Ford Calumet Environmental Center / Big Marsh Park

Bike Park Trails volunteers help Big Marsh Bike Park staff maintain bike trails, ensuring that
trails are maintained and groomed for optimal safety and enjoyment for visitors. Duties range
from watering BMX and single track features, to moving and tamping soil, removing vegetation,
answering park visitor questions and helping to ensure that guests follow best practices for
bicycle safety.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 16 years or older
Able to work in a hot, humid environment or other adverse weather conditions
Ability to work with hand tools (shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows) or desire to learn
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
A genuine appreciation for bicycling and other outdoor activity
A friendly personality and positive attitude

We realize that the nature of the Bike Park lends itself to flexible schedules and opportunities to jump in and help out when/if you are traveling to use the park. We also know that this changes depending on season, park conditions and hours of daylight. Please choose any/all you are interested in. Once we receive your application, we can work with you to set up an efficient way to communicate. We ask that you do your best to communicate when you are planning to visit the park and volunteer time with us.
